Eric, I love it too. It's definitely part nostalgia on my end, being of the Karate Kid Gen X generation. There's more though. I love soap opera-esque shows-Jane the Virgin, Call the Midwife, Bridgerton, etc, etc. I love love traingles. And, I love flawed characters who get a chance at redemption. So, while your wife is objectively right-and my husband groans when I watch all these soap-y shows-I absolutely love them. And, I'm going to keep on watching what I love. When's the next season coming out? :D
