Glad you found value in this, Danielle. For what it's worth, I think you do a whole lot of showing in your writing. I enjoy it immensely.

It's something I struggle with too. Sarah Paris read my memoir millionth (haha) draft and told me I need to show more, tell less. She's right. It's not an easy thing to remember to do. We spend so much time learning to effectively communicate (or trying to), that the emphasis is on telling, I think.

What did you do in your past academic life? I almost became an English professor but changed my mind before starting doctoral school.

I'm thinking about starting some small virtual workshops now. I totally have the teaching bug, but did not like the politics of academia.
