Instead, I chose me. I chose a body that relearned how to move with ease, loose and limber. I chose singing badly, the songs that I loved at the top of my lungs. I chose wild nights with friends, dancing to a rhythm that I thought had died. I chose late nights reading books and early mornings walking my dog.
