Laquesha! This is timely for me. I'm a hardly-ever watcher of superhero stuff, but a FB friend posted a Marvel FB link yesterday to pro-LGBTQ comics. I was surprised/not surprised by the vitriol in the comments on the page.

Throw religious views and politics into the fandom page and you've got some definite toxicity.
