Shanna, this is a fascinating, and in some ways difficult to read, interview. I'd never realized it, but I've always romanticized The Peace Corps. I didn't think about the communities but about where I'd get to go or if I find out someone went I ask "Where did you go?" "What was it like?" I think more about the American immersive experience than the experience of the culture receiving the assistance. I want to think The Peace Corps is a great organization, but this information definitely has me wondering. And, it takes me to further wonder about Green Peace. Are Peace Corps similar or different? How so? Thank you for enlightening us to this issue.
