Thank you, Sheryll! Yes! I believe there is definitely the issue of over-editing. When we edit out our authentic voice, that's a problem. I like to write without my editor angel on my shoulder when I'm crafting rough drafts.

Then, I go in with intuition and often ask peers for feedback. On feedback, follow your intuition--editors aren't always right.

Writing is, in the end, subjective.

David B. Clear has a wonderful article up in The Writing Cooperative about how, in the end, we need to write like ourselves--not other writers.
