That's a great point! Also, there's the additional point that although during non-pandemic times our lives seem certain in first-world countries they are not. In this way, I feel that in the United States, Covid-19 has forced us to face the uncertainties that were already lurking in our family lives , work lives, school lives (I wasn't confident about the future of public ed before Covid hit), and the larger culture.
