Yes. I'm not thrilled with the update of the email subscribe feature, but it's their platform, so. ;P

Since I will likely have projects outside of Medium and it's unpredictable how long I will stay with Medium or Medium will remain a writing platform, I'd rather have an external email subscription list.

I want to use that list to convey life/writing stuff outside of the Medium platform.

So, while I appreciate the newsletter feature on Medium, I honestly don't use it and probably won't use it--except for my publication. I do love sending newsletter updates that come from Age of Empathy--not my personal profile.
