Yes! This is excellently articlulated, Gina. It's not my love language, but it is my daughter's and it has nothing to do with being materialistic. She is the most amazing, thoughtful giver of gifts I think I've ever met. She takes the time to figure out what gift someone else will like. As far as receiving gifts, I think she feels cared about, special, and unique--and, it's important to her that the gifts match her personality.

Since my love language is acts of service, I've learned a lot from her! We can all learn from each other and respect the ways in which we speak this language. :)
